On Saturday, Bob Gagliano, making his first start, completed 17 of 25 passes for 297 yards and four touchdowns --three to Leonard Harris --as the Denver Gold buried the Los Angeles Express 51-0.
Gagliano left the game in the fourth quarter and Vince Evans, who had injured his hand a week ago, took over, running for one TD and passing for one.
Steve Young, the LA quarterback, returned to action after being sidelined several weeks with a knee injury. He was sacked six times and completed five of 10 passes for 63 yards before coming out late in the first half.
