PHILADELPHIA (AP) David Trout booted four field goals, set up by three Oakland fumbles and an interception, as the Philadelphia Stars topped theOakland Invaders 12-6 in a rain-soaked United States Football League game Monday night.

The Stars, who clinched the Atlantic Division title last weekend, improved to 14-2 for the season. Oakland fell to 8-8, losing a chance to clinch the Pacific Division title.

The teams slogged through a steady downpour that turned the field into a series of puddles. Attendance was estimated at 16,933, with an additional 4,000 no-shows.

Trout kicked a 23-yarder with 9:52 left in the game to break a 6-6 tie after tackle John Alford recovered a fumble on the Oakland 24-yard line.

An interception by Stars linebacker Sam Mills three minutes later set up the final field goal, from 30 yards with 1:43 left. Trout also connected from 28 yards and 34 yards. His first field goal came with 10:34 left in the first quarter after Mills recovered a fumble by Oakland's Arthur Whittington at the Invaders 19-yard line.
