MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Ricky Porter rushed for 2 touchdowns to lead the Memphis Showboats to a 48-7 victory over the Denver Gold In the biggest rout in USFL playoff history.

Memphis, which led 13-0 at halftime, opened the third quarter with a 67-yard touchdown drive capped by Porter's 1-yard run, and the Showboats struck for 2 more touchdowns before the period ended.

The Showboats' 48 points were the most ever scored by the team and the margin of victory was the largest in the three years of USFL playoffs.

The Gold rushed for just 30 yards. Denver quarterback Vince Evans completed 13 of 24 passes and threw 2 interceptions.

Tim Spencer led Memphis with 113 yards rushing, and Memphis quarterback Mike Kelley hit on 9 of 19 passes for 171 yards.
