JACKSONVILLE,FL(AP) - The Birmingham Stallions were in Jacksonville, where they figured to beat the Bulls on Sunday. They were wrong - and an announced crowd of 41,298 was on hand to see Ed Luther's TD pass and Mike Rozier's scoring run help the Bulls win 27-17.
Luther hooked up with Perry Kemp on a 15- yard TD pass and 11 of Rozier's 79 yards went for a score as Jacksonville evened its record at 5-5 and dropped Birmingham's to 7-3.
Cliff Stoudt passed for Birmingham's two TDs, 26 yards to Robin Earl and 25 to Joey Jones.
Defensive back Derrick Batiste built on the victory by returning an
interception 12 yards for a touchdown with 1 : 54 to play, then he helped preserve it by stopping Birmingham's final drive with another interception, this one at the Jacksonville 35-yard line.
