TAMPA (AP) - John Reaves threw a pair of touchdown passes to lead Tampa Bay over New Jersey. After recovering a fumble on the New Jersey 13-yard line, Tampa Bay scored three plays later on Reaves' 1O-yard pass, which Eric Truvillion caught on a deflection off Generals safety John Preston.
Later in the first period, Tampa Ray made it 14-0 on fullback Greg Boone's four-yard run around left end.
The Bandits opened a 21-0 halftime lead In the second quarter on a 46-yard scoring pass play from Reaves to reserve tight end Jerry Price. Reaves completed seven of 15 passes for 117 yards.
