NEW ORLEANS (AP) - John Walton fired two touchdown passes and heralded rookie Marcus Dupree scored twice in his USFL debut to pace the New Orleans Breakers to a 37-14 romp over the Memphis Showboats.

Dupree, the 19-year-old former University of Oklahoma running back who signed a $6 million contract with the Breakers two weeks ago, rolled one yard around the right side for a touchdown the first time he touched the ball in the first quarter.

He added a second score later in the period on a 2-yard run. Dupree finished with 31 yards and 11 carries and caught three passes for 36 yards.

The Breakers drew 45,269 fans for their first game in the Louisiana Superdome.
