Pittsburgh 13 at Jacksonville 10 (Melbourne, FL)
1984 Preseason Week 4 - Saturday, February 18, 1984
Attendance: 4,500
MELBOURNE (AP) -- Running back Mike Rozier ran 3 yards for a third-quarter touchdown to lead the Pittsburgh Maulers to a pre-season United States Football League victory over the Jacksonville Bulls on Saturday.
It marked Rozier's debut in the USFL. He had missed a scrimmage and one exhibition game because of a sprained ankle.
Rozier rushed eight times for 25 yards and earned one reception for 11 yards.
The Bulls opened the scoring at 3-0, but the Maulers evened the score at the end of the first half with a 39-yard field goal by Mickey Barrilla.
Jacksonville quarterback Ken Hobart scored on a l-yard run in the fourth quarter. But with three minutes left, the Maulers' Howard McAdoo intercepted a pass at Pittsburgh's 21-yard line that stopped the Bulls' drive.
