TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Gary Anderson, in his United States Football League debut, rushed for 99 yards and one touchdown Sunday as the Tampa Bay Bandits defeated the Arizona Wranglers20-14.

Anderson gave a dazzling display of open-field moves and also caught four passes for 54 yards. He overshadowed the performance of quarterback Mike Kelley, who was making his first appearance in the absence of John Reaves and Jimmy Jordan, who are both injured.

Anderson swept right end for 12 yards and a touchdown to give Tampa Bay a 20-7 lead with 13:43 left in the third quarter. The elusive runner from Arkansas bolted 26 yards with a screen pass to set up one of two field goals by Zenon Andrusyshyn. The win made Tampa Bay's record 8-3, while Arizona dropped to 4-7.

Arizona didn't make a first down until 10:45 remained in the half and Alan Risher connected with Neil Balholm for an 11-yard pass. Three plays later, Harold Blue burst through the middle, cut outside and ran 25 yards for a touchdown and a 7-3 Arizona lead.
