TAMPA, Fla. (UP1) - Kelvin Bryant, second-leading rusher in the U.S. Football League, scored two touchdowns Saturday night to lift the Philadelphia Stars to a 24-10 victory over the Tampa Bay Bandits.
Bryant, who gained 106 yards on 22 carries, scored the first touchdown for Philadelphia, 8-1, on a 10-yard run in the first quarter, and the last in the third period on a 3-yard run.
Allen Harvin added a 2-yard TD run in the third quarter and David Trout kicked a 44-yard field goal in the first period for the Stars.
Tampa Bay, 6-3, scored its only touchdown in the second quarter when Jimmy Jordan passed 2 yards to wide receiver Eric Truvillion. Zenon Andrusyshyn kicked a 25-yard field goal in the third period.
After Andrusyshyn's field goal narrowed the score to 17-10, Bryant took command. He carried five times for 47 yards in an eight-play drive that covered 67 yards, scoring on a pitchout around right end.
