McAllen, TX (AP) - Houston quarterback Jim Kelly, the USFL's MVP last season, threw for 411 yards and two touchdowns, and Todd Fowler scored on a one-yard plunge to break a 21-21 tie with less than two minutes to play against San Antonio.
Backup quarterback Todd Dillon also threw a touchdown pass for the Gamblers.
Rick Neuheisel threw two touchdown passes for San Antonio, including a 39-yarder to Rick Coffman in the fourth quarter that tied the score at 21.
