New Jersey Generals(0-4) at Arizona Wranglers(2-2)(-7)
Attendance: 31,382

TEMPE (AP) - Million-dollar running back Hershel Walker broke loose for 177 yards and touchdowns Sunday as the New Jersey Generals won their first United States Football League game 35-21 over the Arizona Wranglers.

Walker, the former Heisman Trophy winner out of Georgia who had just 261 yards through the Generals' first four games, broke the 100-yard barrier for the first time as a pro on 33 carries.

His 19-yard scoring run midway through the third quarter erased a 14-13 halftime deficit and put New Jersey(1-4) ahead for good while sending the Wranglers(2-3) to their second straight loss.

Walker added a four-yard touchdown run with 2:20 remaining in the third quarter for a 28-14 lead.

Alan Risher threw his third touchdown pass of the night to Jackie Flowers - this time for 62 yards - to bring Arizona to 28-21 with 12:05 left in the game.

But Walker's one-yard touchdown run with 6:31 remaining sealed New Jersey's victory before a crowd of 31,382 at Sun Devil Stadium.
