TAMPA (AP) - Gary Anderson ran for thiee touchdowns and Tampa Bay capitalized on a pair of New Orleans turnovers to overcome a three-point halftime deficit and go on to defeat the Breakers 31-20 in a United States Football League game Sunday.
The triumph before a crowd of 42,592 was the seventh straight for the 10-3 Bandits who trail first place Birmigham by one game in the USFL's Southern Division. New Orleans dropped to 8-5 after its third loss in its last four games.
Anderson scored his 13th and 14th touchdowns of the year on runs of 2 and 3 yards with the latter boosting Tampa Bay into a 24-17 lead with 7:19 remaining in the third quarter.
