SAN ANTONIO, TX (AP) - Snn Antonio's Peter Raeford returned an onside kick 45 yards for an insurance TD Sunday as the Gunslingers beat the Chicago Blitz 30-21 in a United States Football League game.
San Antonio was leading 23-21 with 24 seconds left when Raeford scored. Earlier, Chicago's Vince Evans marched the Blitz 80 yards and threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to fullback Larry Canada. Chicago then tried the onside kick.
Earlier in the half, Nick Mike-Mayer made a 24-yard field goal. San Antonio had built up a 17-7 halftime lead by scoring on two of its first three possessions.
