JACKSONVILLE. FL (AP) -- Joe Cribbs dashed 11 yards to paydirt to break a late fourth quarter tie and lift the Birmingham Stallions to a 24-17 victory over the Jacksonville Bulls Saturday night.

The other half of the Stallions highly touted acquisitions from the National Football League, quarterback Cliff Stoudt, connected for two touchdown passes, one to former Pittsburgh Steeler teammate Jim Smith.

Stoudt completed 14 of 28 passes for 221 yards and Cribbs carried 25 times for 134 yards to lift the Southern Division-leading Stallions to a 6-1 record.
