San Antonio 7 at Oklahoma 14

1984 Week 3 - Sunday, March 11, 1984
San Antonio Gunslingers(0-2) at Oklahoma Outlaws(1-1)(-6.5)
Attendance: 24,311

TULSA (AP) - Sidney Thornton scored on a 1-yard run late in the third quarter and the Oklahoma Outlaws turned back a San Antonio comeback bid in the fourth period to preserve a 14-7 victory.

Thornton capped a 28-yard drive to give the Oklahoma offense its only score of the day, matching a 30-yard interception return by Lee Wilson in the first quarter that gave Oklahoma a 7-0 halftime advantage.

But San Antonio drove 80 yards in 10 plays to cut Oklahoma's lead in half on a 13-yard run by Marcus Bonner midway through the fourth quarter and threatened to tie the score on each of its final two possessions.
