TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - John Williams' touchdown led Michigan to a 10-0 victory over the Los Angeles Express Saturday in the Panthers' second controlled scrimmage of the United States Football League's training camp season.

The score by Williams, a second-year running back out of Wisconsin, came late in the first quarter on a five-yard run. The extra point was kicked by Novo Bojovic, who finished the scoring for the scrimmage in the second quarter with a 39-yard field goal.

One week earlier, the Panthers had the Chicago Blitz 21-20 in a similar scrimmage.

Coach Jim Stanley said he was pleased with the effort of his players.
