PHILADELPHIA(AP) - Allen Harvin, a rookie from Cincinnati who had been used primarily in short-yardage situations, took over for teammate Kelvin Bryant, the USFL rushing leader, in the second half and scored two touchdowns for Philadelphia in just over two minutes of the third quarter as the Stars smashed Washington 34-3 on Sunday.

Bryant, who has been bothered with minor injuries, played only in the first half as the Stars took a 13-3 lead. After that, Harvin carried the load and finished with 119 yards in 16 carries.

The victory put the Stars back into a tie for first with Boston with a 4-1 record.
